Ice bongs have pinches or a shaped chamber that suspends cubes above the water, cooling smoke again as it travels up the neck. They suit shoppers who want a colder draw without adding another external accessory.
The ice catcher is a cooling feature, not a percolator: cubes reduce smoke temperature but do not create extra diffusion. Meltwater can also raise the water level during a session.
Compare catcher position, neck width, cube clearance, percolation, and splash protection. A catcher placed higher in the tube leaves more cooling path, while an open neck is easier to load and clean.
Let the glass approach room temperature before adding very cold ice, and empty meltwater after use. Never force oversized cubes through the mouthpiece; use smaller cubes or crushed ice.
Check that the piece explicitly lists an ice catcher and that common cubes fit the neck. Account for condensation, changing water level, joint size, and the extra cleaning around the ice pinches.
